A4Uexpo Europe in my beautiful hometown Munich is just around the corner – in less than 2 weeks the No.1 Affiliate-Conference in Europe is back in Munich, and it promises to be even bigger & better then last year´s show.
Time to ask Matthew, who runs the event together with his fantastic staff, a couple of questions, on what to expect this year ->
A4uexpo is back in Munich, do you have plans to make this your home?
It’s an absolute pleasure organizing a4uexpo in Munich and we’ve made some great friends and contacts here that help significantly.
What Munich enables us to do is create a truly International vibe to the conference, and this helps to set us apart from similar conferences and events that are centric only on the local market.
Whilst we have no plans to move, we’re always looking to freshen things up and we’ve not ruled out moving to another city within Germany or even perhaps to a location such as Barcelona or Budapest!
Right now though we’re very happy to be returning to Munich after all you can’t beat the German Beer and hospitality!
What’s new at a4uexpo Munich? What can delegates look forward to?
Even more sessions, more networking opportunities, more exhibitors, an expo hall theatre and an even bigger networking party! We’ve also added two brand new features available for all delegates. There will be an opportunity to quiz experts on our hosted roundtable discussions on topics such as the Panda update, or Behavioral Retargeting and partake in a very special Speed Networking event hosted by Webgains where Advertisers and Publishers can connect over a glass of bubbly.
We’re bringing back the end of day one expo hall drinks reception and we’ve also added a round-up session at the end of day two where you can grab a beer thanks to the guys at TradeTracker and catch an entertaining re-cap from key speakers.
Last year´s party was really an event to remember – what about the party this year?
Last year’s party was fantastic with great food and a free bar which I’m told ran until 6am! This year, we’ve invested a very sizeable sum of cash to bring together delegates for a very special evening in central Munich where we’ll have entertainment, an awesome BBQ and complimentary drinks for all. We’ll focus this year on both creating are as conductive to networking and areas where you can party hard.
We’re also returning to VICE bar, pre-event. This was really popular last year and gives everyone a chance to collect their badge and beat the registration queues on the 7th June.
What are the hot topics and must attend sessions this year?
Without a doubt across Europe right now its attribution modelling, behavioural retargeting and Facebook / leveraging social media; naturally we’re covering them in a great deal of detail at a4uexpo.
There is increasingly strong emphasis on telesales tracking, offline redemptions and convergence as well as how successful collaboration can reap rewards with everything from conversion optimisation to competitor benchmarking for increased profit; increasingly important as publishers look to diversify and set themselves apart from the crowd.
In addition to some fantastic new sessions on SEO and Paid Search strategy we will also be covering social games advertising, adsense optimisation, e-privacy directive, fraud & compliance, data feeds, voucher codes, group buying, link building and lead generation.
I really hope we’ve programmed an agenda that’s fully inclusive for everyone, whether you’re a seasoned pro or new starter, publisher, advertiser or agency.
How many people are you expecting and what brands have registered so far?
This year our target is to reach 1,000 delegates. That would be awesome!
So far we have delegates from a diverse range of companies including Vodafone, BT, Disney, Google, O2, Thomas Cook, LinkShare, OTTO, CRITEO, HP, Gutschein-Codes.de, Telekom Deutschland, KUPONA and many, many more.
