10-5 offsuit?
I had a great weekend playing poker all the time at the first poker fair in munich! Wasn´t really a fair – it was basically an official WSOP Main Event Qualifier (for my german friends, who are not into poker that much – the WSOP is basically the World Championship in Poker held in Las Vegas) with some booths all around the tourney area.
The tourney itself was pretty much a rip-off, since you had to play a qualifiers, to get into the final (the “Qualifier” itself). So the final event were 150 people, that each won in one of the qualifiers. Since there was only 1 big prize (the 10.000 Dollar buy-in for the main event + flight to Las Vegas + hotel and expenses), and a 20 Dollar buy-in for the qualifiers, the organizers of the event probably earned themselves a butload of money!
I ended up 27th in the final event, haven´t had called an all-in with a 6-6 when the third 6 hit on the flop (although I had a great read of my opponent, telling him he had A-K, which he then really had – and I would have gambled with my small pair being short stacked!). So 2 hands later I had to go all-in with a K-J suited, loosing to a 10-5 offsuit gambler calling right away!! … ?
Oh well, it was still a great time having come so far in the tournament! And I dominated a multi-table sit&go on the side, winning one night in strech-limousine driving around munich as 1st prize
